History was made in the FIM Supersport World Championship during the Pirelli Indonesian Round as Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) became a two-time WorldSSP Champion at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit. Only four riders, including Aegerter, have won multiple WorldSSP titles as he leaves his mark on the Championship before he graduates to WorldSBK. To celebrate his title success, we are taking a look at ten things you may not have known about the history maker in WorldSSP.

1. Aegerter uses the #77 in his career, but initially started out with #7 because his dad gave it him as his favourite rider was Barry Sheene. When Aegerter moved into road racing, another rider already use the #7, so he opted to simply add another 7 to it. It’s now become his lucky number. He wears a #77 earring piece in his left ear.
    
2. The two-time Champion lists two athletes who he’d like to switch places with for a day. One of them is nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi, who won 115 races in the 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP™ World Championships and the other is Swiss tennis player Roger Federer, who appeared in 31 grand slam finals and won 20 of them as well as a total of 103 singles career wins throughout his career.
    
3. Motorsport is in Aegerter’s blood, and he says if he wasn’t a rider he would be involved in motorsport in a different way. He says this could be in car racing or go karts, or perhaps as a mechanic.
    
4. Aegerter has a list of other sports he enjoys taking part in. He enjoys motocross and supermotard but also sports that don’t involve motorbikes, such as going to the gym, running, cycling, squash and skiing. All of these except squash make up his favourite type of training away from the circuit, whilst flat track is also on his list for a training activity.
    
5. Earlier this year, three people he said he would invite to a dinner party were Rossi, rallycross and rally driver and X Games gold medallist Travis Pastrana and singer Jennifer Lopez.
    
6. Aegerter has lots of best memories throughout his career in both the MotoGP™ paddock in the WorldSBK paddock. Starting from 2006 when he made his 125cc World Championship debut as a wildcard at Estoril, moving on to his first Moto2™ podium in 2011 at Valencia and first win in 2014 at the Sacehsnring, before his 2021 WorldSSP success and 2022 MotoE™ World Cup win.
    
7. Aegerter does not support any MotoGP™ rider but claims it is still a dream of his to race in the Championship. He got his first taste of MotoGP™ machinery this year when he took part in a test with Suzuki, whilst he also has Superbike experience ahead of his maiden WorldSBK campaign next year: he has raced at the Suzuka 8 Hours on six occasions, with a best finish of 2^nd in 2015.
    
8. The 32-year-old claims not to have any hidden talents as he always shows what he can do but says he can cook. His cooking speciality is salad, chicken and pasta.
    
9. On his days off, Aegerter likes to do a multitude of activities. He spends time with his friends, goes and plays sports, goes for a dance and meets friends or spends time on social media. Sometimes he’ll have a party, which is something he’s referenced in Parc Ferme interviews throughout his time in WorldSSP.
    
10. His home in Switzerland is one of his favourite places to visit, but he also enjoys some travelling. He likes to visit Brazil, Thailand and Indonesia – perhaps more now after taking his second title in the country – whilst he has also said he’d like to visit Venezuela.
